AFSIM Training Services

Radiance offers officially sanctioned training for AFSIM (Advanced Framework Simulation for Integration & Modeling) Users, Analysts, and Plugin Core Developers. Supported by our in-house team of AFSIM specialists, training sessions are offered to Government and DoD contractor entities that have an active MOU/ITA and authorized use of the AFSIM toolset and source code.

User & Analyst Training

Our User & Analyst training sessions provide hands-on examples covering core concepts from the latest official AFSIM release, including:

Scenario Creation, Management & Debugging
Fundamentals of AFSIM Modeling
Behaviors and Tasking through AFSIM Script
Design of Experiments (DOE) Creation
Realtime & Constructive Simulation Execution
AFSIM Boxset Analytics Tools and Visualization Capabilities
Multi Domain Scenarios, including Space

Plugin & Core Developer Training

Radiance is proud to offer in-depth and specialized training modules to support teams and organizations extending AFSIM capabilities through plugins or core software development¹. Our Plugin & Core Developer training sessions include unclassified source code explanations, coding examples, and hands-on exercises covering:

Core Classes and Interfaces
Extending the Component Based Architecture
Exposing New Functionality to the AFSIM Script Interface
Compilation and Debugging of AFSIM Core & Plugin Source Code
Compilation & Plugin Development for AFSIM GUI Applications
Interfacing External Applications and Libraries through Plugins

1: Our Plugin & Core Developer training sessions require students to have at least basic familiarity with software development and object-oriented programming concepts

Pricing Tiers

We offer a variety of on-site, virtual, or Radiance-hosted training options. Each option includes a dedicated AFSIM specialist trainer and unclassified course material for up to 24 students maximum². User & Analyst Training sessions are typically 4 days while Plugin & Core Developer Training sessions are typically 3 days⁴. Speak with one of our training coordinators to obtain official pricing quotes.

On Site

Our training specialist(s) will travel to the client-provided facilities within the continental United States³. Radiance can provide laptops for student use if required⁵.

Radiance Hosted

Radiance will provide facility space⁶ and laptops for student use at no additional cost. Students are responsible for travel to and from the Radiance host facility.

Virtual

Radiance will conduct live training sessions over an approved IL⁴ video conferencing system. The client is responsible for providing students with appropriate equipment⁷. Virtual sessions are not recorded⁸.

2: Our base sessions support up to 24 students. Our training coordinators can discuss options to support larger sessions or training needs.
3: Our training coordinators can provide custom options for on-site training outside of the continental United States.
4: Length of the course may vary depending on the selection of advanced or custom modules.
5: Radiance-provided laptops may require additional fees for shipping and handling of equipment.
6: Radiance-hosted training is available at our Beavercreek, Ohio and Huntsville, Alabama office locations.
7: Equipment must be properly approved and maintained for storage of ITAR data.
8: Speak with our training coordinators for options regarding off-line training materials.

AFSIM Training
